Mickael Viljanen – Chef

Mickael Viljanen was born in Stockholm, Sweden, but grew up in Finland. After spending some time in the United Kingdom, he moved to Ireland in 2000 where he worked with Paul Flynn at the Tannery.
Mickael spent five years at the Gregans Castle Hotel, where he won Chef of the Year and Restaurant of the Year from Food & Wine Magazine and RAI’s Chef of the Year award. Mickael has travelled intensively over the years, including Hong Kong, Scandinavia and the United Kingdom.
He is currently working on a six-part TV series about restaurants around the world for the Discovery Channel. He has also appeared on Masterchef Ireland as a guest judge in 2012.
Eduardo Sierra – Wellness Specialist
Soneva Jani: August 7, 2022 – August 31, 2022
Soneva Fushi: September 1, 2022 – October 15, 2022
A life-long ultra-endurance athlete, Eduardo has been practising as a fitness coach and therapeutic masseur for over two decades. As a hands-on therapist, he specialises in musculoskeletal pain relief, approaching acute and chronic pain conditions from a multifaceted toolbox combining acupuncture, soft tissue work, osteopathy and the latest functional neurology research, managing to achieve life-changing healing results.
While at Soneva Soul, Eduardo will be offering pain relief and spinal release massage therapies, Speed Deep tissue massage treatments, sports massage and cupping therapy, electro-acupuncture for back pain and weight loss, his signature personal training sessions, and weight coaching consultations.
Therese Alshammar – Olympic Swimmer
From October 25, 2022 to November 10, 2022 at Soneva Fushi & Soneva Jani
Therese Alshammar is a Swedish swimmer who has won 72 international medals, including three Olympic medals, 25 World Championship medals and 43 European Championship medals, and has set 14 world records throughout her career.
Therese also runs a learn to swim program for schools in Sweden and has written two children’s books on swimming, mixing fact and fiction to spur interest to play in the water.
While in the Maldives, Therese will be helping Young Sonevians perfect their stroke while having fun in the water.
